Momma Teaches Kits to Bathe!

Each time is better than the time before.
Momma Chin is trying...
to teach her kits to take a bath ...

Chinchillas take a bath in dust,
not in water.

The "dust" comes from a volcano.

It absorbs the excess lanolin from the fur,
keeping it clean, soft and fluffy.

A special 'sand bath' is also sold for small animals.
This 'sand' bath is very harsh on a chinchilla's fur,
and does not get them as clean as the dust bath dust.

The kits seem curious,
but not very interested ... yet.

They will soon learn how much fun it is ...
then, they will be happy to jump right in!

Bath time is one of a chin's most favorite times!
