| Chubby's parents are seen above. They are in California, where Chubby was born. Chubby was brought to Virginia, after being adopted by a family. Unfortunately, the son in the family was allergic to the dust bath dust, so Chubby got to come to live at Luv 'N Chins! |
| This is what Chubby Chew looked like when he came to live with us. Chubby is a white mosaic/violet carrier. |
| This is Chubby proposing to his wife, Cindy, a beige. We adopted Cindy from Jim Ritterspach at R&R Ranch in Ohio. |
| On January 14, 2006 They presented us with beautiful a standard gray female. Cindy Lou is with us here and will go in breeding Jan. 2007 when she is a year old. |
| On August 9th, 2006 Cindy and Chubby were blessed with their second litter, a white mosaic female. She is already promised to Christina in the Chesapeake Bay area. She should be ready to go to her new home mid October. |
| Chubby's Flips |
Many of you are already familiar with Dusty's flips on to the top of and
over his hut. Dusty has a five -sided hut. When Dusty got his wife, Suzie, a
pretty black velvet. He turned his attention to her and stopped doing his
back flips. He only has eyes for her!
Below, you will see one of Chubby's favorite things to do to get your
attention and to please his "human mommy".
With Chubby's hut being four-sided, he has put a different 'twist' to his
flips. He jumps up, over and through his hut repeatedly, whenever I ask
him to do so. He has been known to do it more than seven times without
stopping.
Chubby & Cindy
When I found Cindy for him, I figured his attention, like Dusty's, would go
to his new mate and away from me ... but, it didn't. She tolerates it, but
likes to get in the middle and stop him by blocking the opening of the hut or
by getting on top of it and refusing to move. (The little green-eyed monster
known as jealousy.) When she blocks the opening, sometimes he will gently
scoot her aside and start flipping again. Maybe he's playfully teasing her.
Other times, when she gets on top, he will stop. He would not push her off
the top of the hut, he's a gentleman chin!
Names
Chubby Chew got his name from the way he chews his food. He will take
his food, one pellet at a time, and take as many as 12 tiny bites off of each
pellet, chewing each bite and swallowing before tanking another tiny nibble
off of the same pellet.
Cindy is named after a family friend and Cindy Lou after her mom. We will
let you know what the new kit's name is a.s.a.p.
Sharing
Chubby and Cindy both share in taking care of their kits. Momma nurses
the kit and then daddy helps clean it and then snuggles with it to keep it
warm and comfortable while momma rests. It goes without saying, both
kits have been a "daddy's girl".
