He
Talks
The first chins are being
set under the lights.
Don't tie his hands ...
he would not be able to talk!
Thick tight fur,
that stands up tight!
^^^
As he shuffles the chins
from place to place ... he
continues to talk ...
explaining
Length of  the fur...
 the 3 different color bars
on each shaft of fur  ...
No swirls in the pattern of fur!
Blow in it, it bounces right back
up straight and tight.
Strong, natural lighting shows
any hints of red ... and brings
out the natural hue of the
color of the fur.
Age & Size
Male or Female
are all considered.
Proper preparation,
dusting and grooming ...
All will show once the
chinchilla is under the lights.
A chin with a wet eye ...
injury or illness or warning
of tooth problems? >>>
Malocclusion  can be caused
by heredity, injury,
a calcium spur, stress,
or even a cracked tooth.
Anytime a chinchilla begins
chewing and the teeth are not
properly aligned, tooth
problems can develop.
Blocky shape, meaning the
hips and shoulder are very
close to the same size and little
to almost no neck. >>>
Checking for a pure white belly, with the
veiling of the gray meeting the white to
make a straight demarcation line down the
side.                                >>>
This must be judged under natural lighting
and on a pure white table.
Ears and whiskers
do not count.
This little chin lost
both it's ears at two weeks of
age, but still received a
red 2nd place dot.
